STATEMENT OF FAITH
My goal is not to convince or force anyone to believe the
way I believe or that my way of thinking is the only way of
thinking. The Bible teaches that Jesus stands at the
door of our hearts and He knocks. It is up to us to open
the door.
My goal is to tell everyone I can why I opened the door.
My desire is to spread the word of Jesus as it makes
sense to me in a manner which is easy to understand.
Purpose Of This Ministry
God Is The Light On A Cloudy Day a personal message from G. Michael Smith
|
If you were to speak to any member of my family they would tell you that I do not do well with cloudy
days! I need the sun! I find myself focusing on all that may not be going well in my life instead of
the things that are going great when its grey and gloomy outside! Do any of you ever do this? If I
were a gambling man I would say that you do.
This is a perfect example of the way Satan uses our focus to manipulate our minds and convinces
us to focus on things that are not important at all! When we remember that God created
everything...yes even the cloudy day... it was for a reason. When we remember that God's hands are
in all things it becomes easier to remember that regardless of the situation we are in, regardless of
the circumstances that surround your life, God is the one who can break through that cloud.
God has given us (and only us) the ability to let the darkness of Satan overshadow the light of God's
love. Why would He do that you might ask? Simple., we must choose to either trust in Him or not.
It's that simple. God's light will over take Satan's darkness every time if we would just let it.
Here is a simple test that you can try at home....
Take a single match (kids if your alone do not try this without an adult around) and go into a room
with the light on. Look around the room and take note of what you can see. Now turn the light off!
Ask yourself this simple question...
"Has the darkness overtaken the light?" or " Has the darkness somehow become more
powerful than the light?"
I bet you will find that the answer to both questions is no. Why? Because no matter how hard you
try, no matter what angle you approach from.. the light ALWAYS lights up the darkness. It cannot be
the other way around! UNLESS WE EXTINGUISH THE FLAME!
God has given us the ability to extinguish His flame in our lives if we so choose. How big is the
flame in your life? Is it struggling to survive because it's not getting any attention? Is it thriving
and growing larger because we are paying attention to it and giving it what it needs to grow? Or
has your flame gone out completely?
I challenge you to go outside on the next cloudy day.. look up and thank God for those clouds.
Thank him for taking the time to create the sunshine and the rain in our lives. You will feel better...
I promise!
MY BELIEFS: I believe in the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) and I not
only believe in .. but ACCEPT that Jesus Christ (God the Son) was born of a virgin and grew in the
protection and admonition of God (the Father). He was man through and through and God (the Son) at
the same time.
I believe and accept that Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for our sin so that we may be cleansed of our
sins therefore affording us the opportunity to have the relationship with God that He desires. I believe
that Christ experienced the same temptations, hunger, thirst, anger and emotions that we experience
on a daily basis. I believe that where we fail into these same situations on a daily basis and we SIN...
Christ did not.
I believe that He died a horrible death on the Cross and was raised again on the third day. I believe
that he ascended to the right hand of God (the Father) in Heaven where is remains today. I believe He
will return to collect his Church and to judge the world. I believe that time is nearing. I do not know or
claim to know when that day will come as the Bible says “No man knows the day or the hour of His
return... not even the angels nor Christ himself”.
I do believe that we are in the “season” of His return.
I do not speak about denomination(s) in a good or bad way
as my opinion is that the denomination that we choose is far
less important than the relationship that we have with Jesus
Christ. The name written on the door of the building is not
important compared to the name that's written on your heart.
I do not promote any one denomination nor do I speak
against any denomination. I do touch on the division that
they sometimes cause. I do teach that the God of Israel
is the one true God.
I teach that without a relationship and the acceptance of
Jesus Christ as the savior of our souls and Lord of our lives
that there is no way to heaven. My purpose is to tell the
story of Creation, the Garden, Adam & Eve, Christ, Satan
and what it all means to me in an entertaining way.
I use music, video and in some applications lighting,
lasers, fog and special effects. I stress that it is not about
US.... its about HIM... period!
In my daily walk with Christ I find that it is
sometimes overshadowed by the worries and
hassles of this place we call home. In talking
to others as well as my own situations I find that
all too often it seems that our lives can
become one gigantic cloudy day.
Trouble at work, trouble at home, trouble in
school or just trouble in general we often loose
site of the fact that God is in control of
everything... all the time!
